Our client an NHS Organisation, based in Wales seeks to recruit an Interim Complaints Manager for an initial period of 3 months. The post-holder will be required to work a minimum of 1 day per week on site.

Key responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively both internally across departments, with Trust colleagues and with external bodies such as the Public Service Ombudsman, Health Council and any other agencies as appropriate and relevant.
  • Receive feedback from staff, patients, their families or advocates - including verbal, face to face, written and email correspondence - and ensure effective and sensitive communication with them throughout the management of their concern, in line with Being Open principles, which includes drafting formal replies and reports for Director of Cancer Services
  • Work closely with operational leads to develop an organisational culture which views complaints and compliments as opportunities for learning and ensure services are adequately supported and empowered to deal with concerns quickly, effectively and objectively.
  • Develop and maintain excellent professional relationships with Trust staff, concerns colleagues in other NHS organisations, and with the Community Health Councils as well as external bodies such as the Public Service Ombudsman.
  • Advise and support - by phone, face to face and in writing – complainants, their families or advocates, and practitioners about individual feedback and complaints.
  • Act to resolve complaints between practitioners, complainants and their advocates. This may include facilitating complaints resolution meetings, and which may involve exposure to distressing or emotive circumstances.
