Our client an NHS Organisation, based in the South East seeks to recruit an Interim Committee Secretary for an initial period of 5 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The post holder will develop and maintain arrangements and procedures for the sound corporate governance of the Trust.
  • Taking accurate formal minutes of meetings and ensuring that they are provided to the Chair within required timescales.
  • Produce a Chair’s Assurance Report for Board post Committee meetings, highlighting key issues, the level of assurance received and associated risks.
  • Provide the secretariat for the Board Assurance Committees.
  • Maintain terms of reference for all Committees and ensure that they are up to date and annually reviewed.
  • Propose changes to Board and Committee practices and procedures, to improve their effectiveness.
  • Maintain a Register of Decisions made at the various committees and Board Meetings.
  • Support arrangements for the Annual General Meeting, working in conjunction with the Head of Corporate Governance.

Key Requirements:

  • Experienced in providing a full meeting secretariat support and excellent minute-taking skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Highly organised, well structured and able to manage own workload and deadlines around meeting dates, ensuring directors meet deadlines around meeting papers, action logs, etc.
  • Forward-planning abilities, planning meetings and agendas well in advance, able to co-ordinate and cross-reference with other meetings to ensure effective communication flows between groups and committees.
