Our client, an NHS organisation, based in the South East, is seeking to recruit an Interim Senior Equality Assessment Manager for an initial 3 months. The role will be predominately home based.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, manage and monitor equality and health inequality assessments (EHIAs) that enable robust consideration of equality and health inequality duties.
  • Refresh all equality and health inequality assessments Policies.
  • Play a leading, proactive role as a senior officer in creating and embedding a culture and approach to robust analysis, consideration and assessment of equality and health inequality issues in relation to all areas of planning, commissioning and service delivery.
  • Support the organisation to meet the relevant requirements of the Public Sector Equality Duty and Health and Social Care Act, Section 14 – Duty to tackle health inequalities.
  • Provide expert review and support to colleagues in respect of Equality and Health Inequalities Impact Assessments (EHIAs) and share other tools that support proactive consideration of health inequalities or promote equality.
  • Develop and maintain a robust monitoring log of Equalities and Health Inequalities Impact Assessments (EHIAs) and ensure key themes, learning and action is collated and shared with relevant groups and committees.
  • Develop an EHIA database of resources for use in the development of assessments, for example reports, data sets and population information.

Requirements

  • Experience of undertaking equalities and health inequalities analysis for complex projects and programmes.
  • Experiencing of analysing complex data from a range of sources and presenting findings.
  • Experience of project management and/or working knowledge of administrative processes and systems.
