Our NHS client based in the South East of England seeks to recruit an Interim Communications Officer for an initial period of 3 months. The post-holder will be required to work 3 days in the office with the remaining 2 days carried out working from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage internal communications activities that involve, engage and inform Trust staff.
  • Regularly evaluate and review internal communications activities, methods and approaches within the Trust, recommending and making changes where necessary to ensure our approach remains effective and relevant.
  • Lead responsibility for commissioning, writing, editing and proof-reading copy for internal communications channels.
  • Advise on the production of materials designed for internal communications activities, which are in keeping with the Trust’s brand guidelines, to promote specific campaigns and initiatives.
  • Develop a proactive approach to gathering good news stories and case studies from around the Trust, liaising with clinical and corporate services and converting these into news stories to be used internally to promote the work of the Trust.
  • Work with team colleagues to manage key Trust events such as the Staff Awards, Long Service Awards and AGM.
  • Co-ordinate and organise a variety of internal group forums and events, including photoshoots.
  • Advise managers, staff and committees on the development of projects and activities to promote services, increase awareness and engagement across the Trust.

Key Requirements:

  • Significant experience of working within a communications environment.
  • Evidence of developing and implementing successful internal communications plans and campaigns.
  • Evidence of playing a lead content management role for the development of staff intranet content for internal communications activity.
