Our client an NHS Organisation, based in the North West seeks to recruit an Assistant Director of Clinical Governance & Patient Experience on an interim basis for an initial period of 3 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To be the Hospital Lead on clinical governance and patient experience providing specialist advice at all levels including the provision of Hospital Board papers and reports
  • To provide a full managerial support service directly to the Medical Director and Director of Nursing in relation to Clinical Governance, to include, in conjunction with senior colleagues, the compilation of work programmes, action plans and performance management systems for the Hospital.
  • Prioritise and plan workload ensuring deadlines are met within agreed timescales and readjusting plans to ensure competing priorities are met.
  • To ensure, in conjunction with Clinical Governance Medical Lead, Medical Director and Director of Nursing, Divisional Directors and Leads in Clinical Governance, that the processes and structures to facilitate clinical governance are established and operational within the Hospital.
  • Implement of Trust’s Clinical Governance Strategy within the Hospital, ensuring that common approaches to key clinical standards are consistent across the Hospital.
  • Work with the Medical Clinical Governances Lead to develop, implement and embedding of a new Clinical Governance structure with the agreement of Medical Director and Director of Nursing.
  • Lead, manage and co-ordinate Hospital integrated governance systems which deliver compliance with all relevant external standards and requirements including those of the Care Quality Commission, NHS Improvement, NHS England and Human Tissue Act.
  • To provide the leadership and prepare the Hospital for participation in external reviews of clinical governance.

Key Skills:

  • Expert understanding of the policy, legal and inspection framework relating to NHS clinical governance, patient experience and NHS Complaints Management.
  • Substantial experience of clinical governance at a hospital wide level within the NHS.
  • Significant experience of clinical and/or corporate governance within the NHS.
