This is an operational role, and our client requires the post-holder to possess a broad range of skills and experience, flexible and hit the ground running.
Key responsibilities include;
- Providing a professional media management service (both reactive and proactive).
- writing press releases, statements and articles for local, regional and national media, working flexibly to ensure tight journalism deadlines are met.
- working proactively with staff, service users, and carers across the Trust to find good news stories to share with colleagues and with the media.
- developing and maintaining effective relationships with the press and media and ensure that high profile, highly complex, and high risk issues are managed appropriately.
- developing good, professional relationships with staff, service users, carers, and stakeholders to ensure communications is highly prized across the organisation.
- ensuring media, press stories and stakeholder databases are kept up to date.
Key requirements include;
- Experience of working on and evaluating communications strategies.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in communications/ public relations and/or journalism.
- proven track record of writing excellent copy for news releases and publications.
