Key responsibilities include;

  • providing robust, consistent and professional HR support to the service line.
  • ensuring that sound HR principles and good practice are integral to delivery of the HR service.
  • ensuring that practice which is not in line with sound HR principles is challenged and work with line managers to identify and implement alternatives.
  • supporting line managers by providing professional advice and guidance on all employee relations issues, including grievances, disciplinaries, performance management issues etc.
  • ensuring all new, current and concluded employee relations cases are recorded, updated and closed on the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) system in an accurate and timely manner.
  • liasing with appropriate colleagues to ensure that hearings, appeals and external legal processes are arranged and conducted appropriately and in line with Trust policies and employment law provision.
  • supporting the HR Business Partners to ensure that HR strategies and plans are robust, fit for purpose and in line with employment law provision and good HR practice.
  • contributing to the development or review of Trust HR policies and procedures and lead consultation with staff side colleagues on policy refresh.
  • supporting the workforce planning process within the service line and contribute to the corporate Workforce Development plan.

Key requirements include;

  • full member status of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (post-graduate level)
  • significant experience of providing highly specialised HR advice and support to managers including dealing with complex employee relations issues, absence management, conduct, capability, grievance, and organisational change.
